It was a big year at Cheetah Digital — we couldn’t have packed in anything more if we tried! From adding talented new members to our team to launching a lineup of innovative, game-changing new products — not to mention supporting members of our local communities — it’s been an action-packed year.
In 2019, we got to see the efforts of the whole company come to fruition at Signals 19. The colorful three-day event inspired us with speakers like Amy Purdy, Beth Comstock, Hasan Minhaj, and more. And best of all, it was a chance to introduce our biggest news of the year.

A year of acquisitions and additions
It was a year of new acquisitions — and additions of great new talent. With the acquisition of Wayin, a global leader in zero-party data, Cheetah Digital demonstrated its commitment to the future of marketing. As third-party data takes a back seat and strict data and privacy regulations become the norm, it’s more important than ever for marketers to focus on building a relationship with customers that doesn’t involve the use of problematic data sources. The resulting solution, Cheetah Experiences, is one of the essential products brands will need in the next decade as they navigate a world that’s rapidly changing.
We welcomed many new members to our leadership team this year, as well. We added to our roster Bill Ingram as Chief Product Officer; a new Senior Vice President of Product Marketing, Patrick Tripp; our very first Chief Marketing Officer Richard Jones; an expansion of our EMEA team, including Steven Elsham as GM and SVP of EMEA, Ryan Hooper as VP Client Success of EMEA, and Sharon Forder as VP Marketing of EMEA; and leaders in Japan, Country Manager of Japan Takahiro Koke, VP and COO of Japan Takaaki Shirai, and VP and CMO of Japan Mikoto Kato.
A year of new products
At Signals, we introduced the revolutionary Customer Engagement Suite, along with numerous additional product innovations and features. The planning and development efforts of many years culminated in the release of our complete lifecycle set of solutions for marketers: Cheetah Experiences, Cheetah Messaging, and Cheetah Loyalty, underpinned by the foundational data layer, Cheetah Engagement Data Platform. These products will help marketers in 2020 and beyond to engage with their customers throughout their lifecycle, from acquisition to loyalty.
A year of recognition
We started off the year with a stellar accomplishment — being named as a leader in The Forrester Wave™: Loyalty Technology Platforms, Q2 2019 report. For the sixth straight year, we were recognized as a leader in the Relevancy Ring — ESP Buyer’s Guide 2019, Enterprise Edition. Our contributions to the loyalty field were again recognized, this time by Loyalty360 as a winner of the Top 10 Awards in the Technologies category. And finally, we were honored as a 2019 MarTech Breakthrough Award Winner in the category of Best Overall Email Marketing Company.
A year of helping
All the success in the world is nothing unless you share it. This year, Cheetah Digital team members across the globe did their part to help members of their communities and beyond.
The US team joined forces with the Big Shoulders Fund for a day of working with students at inner-city schools in Chicago, and continues to collaborate with the organization in helping inner-city schools provide a quality, values-based education for Chicago’s children. The Cheetah Digital Melbourne team joined LifeChanger at their TR1BE event, raising more than $550,000 for young Australians by providing the resources, skills, education, and pathway they need to develop a positive self-identity to live their best life. In London, team members volunteered at the Ace of Clubs, a homeless shelter providing a number of services to the vulnerable in the local area, including shower facilities, a mobile dentist service, clean clothes, and also computer access for them to apply for jobs and benefits.
At Signals 19, Cheetah Digital partnered with Codeverse and Big Brothers Big Sisters to sponsor a Codeverse Scholarship for 15 “littles” and 15 “bigs” in the Chicago area. The participants will be learning how to code and create their own gaming programs.
